DISCOVER QUEBEC CITY FROM THE RIVER
From the Old Port, a guided cruise offers a chance to step back and view Quebec City from the St. Lawrence River.
The route travels toward Montmorency Falls, opening onto views of the Château Frontenac, Île d’Orléans, and the shores of Quebec City. For approximately an hour and a half, a guide shares the stories of the river, its history, and the landscapes that have shaped the city.
In September, the light becomes softer and the first seasonal colours gradually appear along the shoreline. Schedules may vary depending on the date and navigation conditions.

EXPERIENCE THE HARVEST ON ÎLE D’ORLÉANS
A few kilometres from Quebec City, Île d’Orléans enters one of its most generous seasons in September.
Orchards welcome visitors for apple picking, cider houses present their products, and roadside stands fill with apples, squash, and local specialties. From mid-September, some vineyards also begin to come alive with the grape harvest.
Half a day is enough to visit a few carefully selected addresses. A full day leaves more time to travel around the island, meet local producers, and pause beside the landscapes of the St. Lawrence River.

Beyond the city, the Jacques-Cartier Valley gradually begins to change.
From mid-September, the first colourful leaves generally appear along the river and across the high plateaus. The trails offer different ways to discover the valley on foot, while selected water activities may remain available depending on the weather and park conditions.
Half a day is enough to follow an accessible trail and enjoy the landscape. A full day leaves more time to explore the valley and adapt the outing to the pace of your group.

LA NUIT DES GALERIES
On September 5, 2026
Beginning at 3 p.m., participating galleries and businesses in Place-Royale, Petit-Champlain, and the Old Port invite visitors to move freely from one address to another.
Meetings with artists, discoveries of Quebec art, and luminous installations shape this cultural evening in one of the city’s most evocative neighbourhoods.
QUEBEC CITY FILM FESTIVAL
From September 9 to 13, 2026
For five days, the Quebec City Film Festival brings together screenings, encounters, and activities devoted to films from Quebec and elsewhere.

GRAND PRIX CYCLISTE DE QUÉBEC
Taking place September 11, 2026
The world’s leading professional cycling teams come to Quebec City for one of only two UCI WorldTour events held in the Americas.
The route travels through several emblematic areas, including the Plains of Abraham, Côte de la Montagne, and Porte Saint-Louis. The event may also affect traffic and access in Old Québec.

For three days, arts and culture are celebrated through a program of free activities presented in various locations across Quebec City and the province.

COMING IN OCTOBER 2026
October will bring Quebec City into the heart of fall, with more colourful landscapes and several occasions to discover throughout the city.
From October 2 to 4, the Beneva Quebec City Marathon will travel through several emblematic areas, including Old Québec, the Plains of Abraham, and the St. Lawrence riverfront.
Between October 15 and 25, Québec en toutes lettres will present literary encounters, performances, shows, and public installations in different locations throughout the city.
Beginning October 22, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec will welcome visitors to the new Espace Riopelle – Pavillon Michael Audain, devoted to the work of Jean Paul Riopelle.
