GERMAN CHRISTMAS MARKET • 5 Locations in Old Québec
Are you excited to see our beautiful city of Québec transform into Santa’s village? As every year, the enchanting German Christmas Market, with its charming wooden chalets, will kick off the festivities. Just steps from the hotel, whether with family or friends, you can enjoy comforting food and drinks, discover lovely gift ideas for everyone, and, most importantly, have fun. My personal favorite: the toy cable car near the skating rink at Place d’Youville—perfect for reliving childhood magic. I’ll definitely see you there!
ICE SKATING
As a Frenchwoman, the thing that most amazed me when I arrived in Québec was all the free, public ice rinks. It’s so beautiful to see these skaters at the heart of the city, surrounded by cobblestone streets and historic buildings. My favorite rinks? Of course, the iconic one at Place d’Youville, straight out of a Christmas movie, the massive rink at the Plains of Abraham with its view of the Saint Lawrence River, and the one at Lake Beauport, where you are fully immersed in the Québécois winter. As for me, I’m not yet an expert, but I’m not giving up!

THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF QUEBEC
Maybe it’s not the first thing you’d think of visiting when you come here, but I’d love to change your mind. Visiting the Parliament is far from being austere! I’m sure you’ll appreciate its Second Empire-style architecture, said to be inspired by the renovation work on the Musée du Louvre. It’s a true dive into history, with a focus on the women and men who have marked Québec’s history. You’ll understand the origins of the motto “Je me souviens” within these walls. And until January 18, make sure to check out the Images Photographiques et Matières exhibition, where you’ll discover works by 14 Japanese artists from the 1970s.
OPHELIA • 634 Grande-Allée E
Every winter, I fall in love with the domes of Ophelia. Imagine a delicious meal in a bubble that immerses you in a magical and cozy atmosphere. You enjoy the view, but stay warm and snug inside. And on your plate, the magic continues—a fabulous meeting of land and sea. As a seafood lover, this is my go-to spot, but if meat is your guilty pleasure, the Quebec Wagyu beef will transport you. An evening spent in these beautiful transparent igloos is more than just a meal; it’s a unique experience that your taste buds will remember for a long time.
