Here are their favorite picks for the month.

Sugar Shack Relais les Pins • Île d’Orléans

Because maple season is far from over, let me introduce you to another gem of Île d’Orléans: Relais les Pins.

Here, you’ll find all the classics: the traditional meal with eggs in syrup, maple-glazed ham, baked beans, and of course, the legendary taffy pulled straight from the snow.
What sets Relais les Pins apart? A warm, authentic atmosphere, far from anything too commercial. This is a place where you take your time, sit down for a good chat, and go back for seconds without anyone batting an eye.

Just a few minutes from the Île d’Orléans bridge, about twenty minutes from Old Quebec, this charming little detour is absolutely worth the trip.

Musée des Ursulines de Québec

Founded in 1639 by Marie de l’Incarnation and her fellow sisters, the Ursulines Monastery is the oldest educational institution for women in North America. And the museum, which I highly recommend, brings this history to life in a genuinely moving way.

You’ll discover remarkable works of religious art, gold-thread embroideries crafted with a patience that puts fast fashion to shame, and everyday objects that speak to a monastic life at once disciplined and deeply creative. An entire room is dedicated to General Montcalm, whose remains rested here for a time, a reminder that Quebec City sits at the crossroads of two worlds.

Located in the heart of Old Quebec, the museum fits easily into a day of urban exploration. Plan for one to two hours, and leave with the feeling of having touched something truly significant.

Méga Parc des Galeries de la Capitale: a family paradise

Let’s be honest. There are April days when the weather hasn’t quite gotten the memo that spring is officially here. For those days, or for families looking for an activity that works for kids and parents alike, Méga Parc des Galeries de la Capitale is a safe bet.

Tucked inside Quebec City’s largest shopping mall is nothing short of a full-blown amusement park. Rides, arcades, a carousel, mini-golf, inflatable play structures… it’s all there.

Little ones have their own age-appropriate zones, older kids can chase the thrills, and adults… well, they’re welcome to give it a shot too, if they’re feeling brave! And with plenty of restaurants and shops just steps away, it’s the perfect outing with zero hassle. Because sometimes, happiness is simply the sound of kids having a great time.
