Gastronomic tour on Orleans island

Today, I’m taking you on a journey to Île d’Orléans—but not just any kind of trip. We’re talking about the ultimate gourmet package, the one where you get to taste everything the island does best!

The experience begins in spectacular fashion at Montmorency Falls, breathtaking in every season, before crossing the island and its almost timeless landscapes in a comfortable SUV, guided by a local enthusiast. Along the way, we stop for a tasting of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie paired with local wines, then dive into a true Québec tradition with a classic snack: poutine and regional specialties on the menu.

There are also maple treats, homemade jams, seasonal sweets, and above all, the best hot chocolate on the island (I don’t say that lightly). And because the best discoveries are often spontaneous, a few stops tailored to your tastes are added along the way—galleries, cafés, hidden gems. You decide!

Sliding on the Dufferin Terrace • Old Québec

Did you know that people have been sliding down the Dufferin Terrace for over a century? And the sleds haven’t been replaced since the very first run!
Just kidding—though you will be riding traditional wooden sleds that can reach speeds of up to 70 km/h over a 250 m descent. Each sled can hold up to four people. More people = more weight = more speed = more fun.

Ophélia Restaurant • Grande-Allée

The terrace season may already be behind us, but that doesn’t mean we have to give up the pleasure of dining outdoors.
Restaurant Ophélia, on Grande Allée, offers a magical way to enjoy the open air even in the heart of winter thanks to its domes that can accommodate up to four people. (Just like the toboggan run… coincidence? I think not!)

Available from December to April, these transparent cocoons take you on a gastronomic journey between land and sea, all while keeping you warm and wrapped in the cozy winter atmosphere and the charm of the snow-covered city.
